Dr. Jennifer Bieleny

Veterinarian

Education: Western College of Veterinary Medicine

Pets: Tinkerbell and Jayda

Jennifer grew up on the edge of the mountains in Hinton, Alberta. After high school she headed to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences for 3 years, where she gained exposure to some farm critters through summers spent working in the University swine and chicken barns.

Jennifer then attended and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, SK. Her first experience with Lacombe Veterinary Centre came as a 3rd year veterinary student working with Dr. Lawson and many of the current staff at LVC. Dairy calls with Dr. Lawson allowed her to gain exposure to dairy cattle, and coming back to Alberta and Skylar’s family’s ranch provided exposure to cow/calf ranching and feedlot cattle. After graduation she spent 2 years in mixed animal practice in Cold Lake, Alberta working with dogs, kitties, small ruminants, cattle and horses. She then spent a year in sunny and hot Phoenix, Arizona working for Banfield Pet Hospitals- a “workation” of sorts. After spending the last 2 years in Sedgewick at Iron Creek Veterinary Hospital, Jennifer and her husband Skylar made the move to Lacombe and are incredibly excited to be starting at Lacombe Veterinary Centre.

Jennifer enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine (with the occasional goat or sheep thrown in!), and especially enjoys small animal surgery. Jennifer and Skylar have 2 “SPCA specials”, Jayda the SPCA special and Tinkerbell the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, a young son, Jace, and recently welcomed their first baby girl, Blair. When there is a little spare time in between being a parent and veterinary medicine, Jennifer enjoys snowboarding, working out, hiking, cross country skiing, knitting, travelling, and walking Jayda and Tinkerbell. She is excited for meeting all LVC’s wonderful clients and their pets!
